Barry Woods

Barry Woods is the founder director of the company. Barry commenced his legal career in the Victorian Crown Solicitors’ Office in 1960. He worked in most sections of the Crown Solicitors’ office and for two years worked in the Parliamentary Draughtsman’s Office. He studied law part time, completing his Bachelor of Law degree at Melbourne University in 1965 and the degree of Master of Taxation from Melbourne University in 1996.
In 1966, he taught Company and Commercial Law to accountancy students at what was then known as Preston Institute of Technology and tutored in Company Law at Monash University.
He was admitted to practice in 1966.
He has over 50 years’ experience advising individuals, companies, partnerships, trusts and not for profit organisations.

After graduating in 1967, Barry moved into private practice in rural Victoria and developed a special interest in taxation and estate planning.

Barry is a Certified Taxation Adviser. He has been an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and spent almost 10 years as Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the Professional Development and Technology Division. He has presented papers on legal practice management and technology issues to IBA seminars in Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, London and Montreaux.

Michael Norbury

Michael is an accomplished commercial lawyer with 30 years experience, He is passionate about finding solutions for his clients.

Tax is Michael's forte, with a particular emphasis on indirect taxes such as stamp duty and land tax. He is a Chartered Tax Advisor and a frequent contributor to Taxation in Australia.

Clients value Michael's ability to navigate a path through complex business challenges to maximise and maintain their wealth.

Mary Helen Woods

Mary Helen Woods has almost completed her law degree and has completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She is a valuable research assistant as well as gaining experience in all areas of the law including in Federal, Supreme, County and Magistrates Court litigation. She has sought and defended Intervention Orders.

Helen Butler

Helen Butler has been Barry Woods’ personal assistant for many years. Helen has extensive experience in corporate practice, litigation support, probate, conveyancing and general legal secretarial support.
